I’m excited to share a few of my favorite items from the blizzcon 2016 virtual ticket offerings.
A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to go to blizzcon, the world’s biggest (and most expensive) gaming convention. It was in Chicago, and blizzcon was about the only thing I could afford to do. There I was in the convention center, surrounded by people I’d never met, and I found myself unable to look up to talk to anyone at all.
In response to the many people who ask whether or not I will attend blizzcon, I can say that I’m currently not planning on attending. I was there once for the first time, and I found myself bored and missing the people I’d met. I’m not sure if I was looking for something different, or something I was already familiar with. Either way, I just couldn’t connect with anyone and didn’t understand anything that happened.
Because if you want to be there, you have to pay for it, or something. Blizzcon is a convention, and you can’t just pay up and be a part of it without any kind of participation. For example, you have to buy a virtual ticket and then purchase a badge that you have to wear.
What I found interesting about this was that we had no idea what the virtual tickets were. I mean, they were a mystery to us, but I don’t know what they were. We were only given a random number and told we could put it in a lottery. Then we had to enter the drawing, which was just a bunch of numbers. When you entered you were entered into a lot of different groups. The groups were basically like a lottery in which the group with the most numbers won.
The “lottery” was something else altogether because I entered a number I had never seen before, and I won. I am very relieved to learn that I have entered this number in the blizzcon lottery. There was a good chance I won $10,000 because I was the only person lucky enough to win.
I entered my number in a lottery for the first time in my life.
The good news is that there are lots of different online events you can attend at blizzcon 2016. We are all very excited to hear all about it when it happens. There is also a lot of excitement about the upcoming World Championship tournament, which will be held in Austin, TX. You can find out more about this event by checking out the blizzcon 2016 website.
We’re not sure yet when we’ll get to see a live event, but there is lots of excitement on the horizon. It’s been a couple of years since we were able to attend a world championship, but we’re hoping that we’ll get to see that in full force at blizzcon 2017.
The only problem is, the internet has no time for virtual tickets, so if you’re not in the mood to go live before the tournament is over, don’t get involved.
