I believe this happens at any time. When you are setting up your computer to connect to the internet, you are probably first going to see a prompt to “evolve” and “start networking”.
If you’re on a computer, you can go to Network Management -> Properties -> Network Management -> Evolution. After that you’ll be presented with the new networking window. The networking window will show that you’ve changed your network settings. As the screen goes darker, the network window will show that you’ve changed the settings. If you’re not on the computer, the networking manager will show you a prompt to try to connect to the internet.

If youre using Evolution, it might be a little confusing. When you try to access the network settings, it displays “could not display the changes youve made in the networking window.” Then when you try to connect to the internet, the network manager displays “The following computer settings could not display the changes youve made in the networking window.
I would try rebooting, but the more I think about it, I suspect that your problem might be that the network manager has been turned off for a while. I would think that it would make it harder for evolution to get your new settings back.
Well, you’d think that with an internet connection, you’d be able to get your new settings back, but apparently it doesn’t work that way. It seems that evolution thinks that the network manager is on a machine that isn’t connected to the internet, but in reality it is.
You either need to reboot or turn off your internet connection. Either way, you need to go into your BIOS and change settings to allow evolution to get your new settings back.
